Documents Required:
- In the case of students
- Proof of acceptance at studies from the Ministry of Education, Research and Youth, stating that the third-country national will attend a day-course learning programme.
- Proof of payment of the tuition fee for at least one year of studies.
- Proof of financial means at the level of the national minimum net salary for the entire period specified on the visa.
- The applicant’s criminal record, or any other document with the same legal value, issued by the authorities in the state of domicile or residence, bearing an apostle or extra-legalisation, as the case may be.
- Medical insurance for the validity period of the visa.
- Approval on behalf of the parents or of the foster parents regarding the stay on the Romanian territory for studies, if the third-country national is underage.
- In the case of third-country nationals attending a pupil exchange programme:
- Proof of acceptance at studies from the Ministry of Education, Research and Youth, stating that the third-country national will attend a day-course learning programme.
- Proof of attending a pupil exchange programme, conducted by an organisation set up according to national laws and acknowledged for such purpose.
- Proof from the organisation arranging the pupil exchange, attesting that it will provide the financial support and any potential costs related to repatriation.
- Medical insurance for the validity period of the visa.
- Proof of the accommodation with a family selected by the organisation arranging the pupil exchange and which holds a dwelling place deemed as appropriate for a family in Romania.
- Approval of the parents or foster parents as to the stay on the Romanian territory for studies, if the third-country national is underage.
- Third-country nationals attending a pupil exchange programme must be aged between 7 and 19 years.
- Third-country nationals who benefit from a scholarship granted by the Romanian State are not required to submit the proof of payment of the tuition fee or the proof of financial means.
- Third-country nationals of Romanian origin are not required to submit the proof of financial means.
- The visa for studies is also granted to the third-country nationals accepted for studies on the grounds of international documents to which Romania is party.
